Who am I? My name is François Beyens.
When I was 14 years old I decided to become an acupuncturist. First seven years to study western medicine, then three years in the Far East, Hong Kong and Taiwan, to study acupuncture with several masters.
Since then I have been practicing it (for nearly four decades) and I love it. Teaching it for a long time, from A to Z, like the masters I had, transmiting all my knowledge, experience, beliefs and doubts. So the students learn acupuncture from and with me.
I teach what I do and I do what I teach, writing acupuncture books for practitioners and students ( but they actually can be read by everyone).
I have been for 26 years the General Secretary of an international association of doctors practicing acupuncture in the world. It is called ICMART, which stands for "International Council of Medical Acupuncture and Related Techniques".
More than ten times a year I participate in national or international congresses and seminars, often giving lectures and workshops.
But I always feel that I can learn more than what I know, and this is a stimulating feeling driving me forward. I hope that it will never stop.
